Ruby Rosselle “Ross” Tugade is a PhD student at the Faculty of Law & Justice, University of New South Wales supported by an Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship. She is also a Senior Legal Associate at the University of the Philippines Law Center. Ross has extensive legal practice in the field of human rights and international criminal law, spanning past and ongoing mass atrocity contexts in various jurisdictions. She has represented public interest cases in the Philippine Supreme Court. Her work as a lawyer has informed her scholarly work on international human rights, humanitarian law, transitional justice, and public international law. Ross is a member of the Editorial Board of Feminist Legal Studies and has held editorial roles in the Philippine Yearbook of International Law, the Philippine Law Journal, and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines Journal. She remains active in legal advocacy as a member of the Free Legal Assistance Group. Ross previously taught at the University of the Philippines College of Law and the Ateneo de Manila University. She holds degrees from Ateneo de Manila University (BA), the University of the Philippines (JD), and the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute in Italy (LLM).
