The ANU Philippines Institute is a new body established at The Australian National University with the goal of promoting Philippines-related research activities, outreach and expertise among ANU scholars. It also aims to cultivate strong partnerships, linkages and networks between Australian and Philippines academic institutions, policy-makers and relevant interest groups to promote high quality policy research and analysis, and promote the training of the next generation of Philippines scholars.
Over the next five years (2023-2028), the Institute’s strategic priorities consist of:
- Pursuing research-led policy engagements to strengthen bilateral relationship between Philippines and Australia
- Delivering conferences in both (ANU) Australia and the Philippines
- Providing funding for Filipino researchers and distinguished visitors to travel to Australia
- Providing funding for Australia-based researchers to travel and do research in the Philippines
