Rob is a Research Fellow at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Dark Matter Particle Physics. His research focuses on the detection and mitigation of naturally occurring radioactive radon backgrounds in underground dark matter experiments. With a strong interest in bridging fundamental science and real-world impact, Rob has applied radon physics to fields such as public health, environmental monitoring, and resource exploration. His contributions beyond academia are recognised through Chartered Physicist (CPhys) status awarded by the Institute of Physics (IOP) in the United Kingdom. Rob is a strong advocate for Filipino physicists. He has led initiatives with the British Council and Queen Mary University of London to support the Filipino physics community and is one of the few Filipinos qualified as an author on the ATLAS experiment at CERN, the world’s largest particle physics collaboration. He remains actively involved in efforts to grow Philippine physics internationally, such as the Philippine Cluster with UP Diliman for ATLAS, and is open to new collaborations and partnerships with researchers and institutions in the Philippines.
