Queenie Pearl V. Tomaro is a PhD student at the School of Government and International Relations, Griffith University. She is a Lecturer at the Department of Political Science, Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology, Philippines. For several years, she has been engaged in youth peacebuilding work with the Young Women Leaders for Peace Philippines, a youth program of the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP). She is a 2021 Leadership and Democracy (LEAD) fellow of the Leadership and Democracy Fellowship of The Asia Foundation and USAID. Her research interests include gender, peace and security, and preventing countering violent extremism.
