Kidjie Ian Saguin
I am a Lecturer in Public Policy (Management) at the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Melbourne and an editor of Policy Design and Practice. Previously, I was Assistant Professor in Public Policy and Governance at the University of Amsterdam and a Fox International Fellow at Yale University. My research broadly focuses on comparative public policy with a substantive focus on social policy in the Global South. My current research is divided into two strands. First, I seek to use the public policy lens in understanding migration policy dynamics in terms of a) how labor sending countries extend social rights to their workers abroad and b) how they provide reintegration services to their returnees. Second, I examine how we can best design social policies under sub-optimal conditions through innovative governance processes.
