I am a research fellow at RegNet’s JusTech lab, where I am developing an anti-racist, queer, and intersectional neuroethics framework to promote justice in brain and mental health. I was previously an ANU-CSIRO research fellow in responsible innovation in precision health, examining diversity, inclusivity, and equity in health research, policy, promotion, and communication. I have a Ph.D. in Society and Culture from the University of Tasmania, master’s in neurosciences from the University of Bordeaux and VU University Amsterdam, and a bachelor’s in molecular biology from the University of the Philippines Diliman. Moreover, I was a visiting bioethicist at the Brocher Foundation and a visiting student in neuroethics at Monash University, University of British Columbia, University of Washington, and Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin. I have also completed the 2017 Sherwin B. Nuland Summer Institute in Bioethics at Yale University. I have published book chapters and papers on queering science communication in the Philippines and on communicating information on COVID-19 vaccination to pregnant women in the Philippines.
