Daniel Fritz Silvallana
Daniel Fritz Silvallana is a PhD Candidate at the School of Communication and Creative Arts, Deakin University, specialising in media and communication studies. He also works as a Graduate Researcher Teaching Fellow at Deakin, where he teaches global media, applied research, and communication concepts. His research focuses on climate change communication, community media in the Philippines, and affect and emotion in media studies.
Daniel is currently on leave from his position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Media and Communication at Davao del Norte State College, Philippines. He has held several visiting fellowships at international research institutions, including the CRC Affective Societies at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany (2024), MediaLab at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain (2024), and Kavli IPMU at the University of Tokyo, Japan (2025).
