Dr Charina Lyn Amedo-Repollo is an Assistant Professor and former Deputy Director for Research and Development (2023–2026) at the University of the Philippines Marine Science Institute (UP MSI), where she heads the Physical Oceanography and Observation Laboratory. Her research focuses on coastal and island circulation, climate change and marine heatwaves, fisheries connectivity, ocean observations, and hydrodynamic and dispersal modeling. Her work integrates ocean observations and numerical modeling to support climate resilience, sustainable marine resource management, and science-informed decision-making, including research in the West Philippine Sea. She actively contributes to national and regional discussions on maritime and ocean governance and has served in several working groups on maritime and ocean concerns. She holds a Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and an M.Sc. in Marine Science from the University of the Philippines Diliman.
