Dr. Melanie Reyes is the Executive Director of the Miriam College-Women and Gender Institute (WAGI) and the Sustainability Officer of Miriam College. She is also a member of the National Gender Resource Pool of the Philippine Commission on Women, a subject matter expert on Women, Peace, and Security at the National Defense College of the Philippines, and serves as a faculty member at the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU), where she teaches Women and Development Research. Dr. Reyes has been involved in the development of the Philippine National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) 2023-2033 as part of the civil society. Furthermore, Dr. Reyes currently holds the position of President of the Women and Gender Studies Association of the Philippines (WSAP), Vice President for Membership of the Philippine International Studies Association (PHISO), and member of the Association of Asian Women’s Studies (AAWS). She is also a member of the Technical Working Group on Gender and Women Studies of the Commission on Higher Education and part of NAPOLCOM’s Technical Committee on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, representing the women sector.
